Prisma conducted a feasibility study for the Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia (MAVETA) project, led by SDC and implemented by GIZ, HEKS, SDA, and HAFL. The overall objective of the feasibility study was to assess and describe the demand and supply for specific professions in the agriculture and food processing sector regarding skilled workers, with graduation in dual vocational education and training (VET) with apprenticeship, short-term courses, continuous education or similar trainings in all Armenian regions.

A mixed-methods approach was applied to generate comprehensive and actionable insights. Specifically, quantitative survey of 343 private sector companies from agriculture and food processing subsectors, representing micro, small, medium, and large enterprises across all regions was conducted. Qualitative research included 15 key informant interviews and 9 focus group discussions with educational institutions, farmers, agribusinesses, potential workers, and government representatives. Also, desk review of project documents, labor market and education statistics, and national/international sectoral studies․ As a result, Prisma came up with recommendations for scalability, optimization, specialization and mobility aspects.
