The SAFER initiative, implemented by German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation (DSIK) within the framework of the EU and BMZ co-financed project “Sustainable Energy for Climate Resilient Municipal Development in Armenia” (SE4Resilience), implemented by the GIZ GmbH, aims to support vulnerable, primarily women-led households (HH) in Gegharkunik, Shirak, Syunik, and Tavush by promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions to reduce costs, protect ecosystems, and improve well-being.
The Baseline Survey has generated the evidence needed for effective targeting, implementation, and monitoring of project outcomes. It provided a pre-intervention overview of HH energy practices, consumption patterns, housing conditions, financial and awareness levels, and will support the development of eligibility criteria, geographic prioritization, and indicators for results-based monitoring across the four regions.
