Prisma conducted a comprehensive study aimed to evaluate the level of satisfaction with obstetric and gynecological services among refugee women in Armenia. The research also explored the extent to which these services are sensitive to gender-based violence and the awareness of relevant procedures among both providers and beneficiaries.

The study was carried out across five regions — Yerevan, Kotayk, Ararat, Armavir, and Syunik — using a mixed-methods approach. It combined desk research with both qualitative and quantitative primary data collection to ensure a nuanced and evidence-based understanding of the current service landscape.

Research activities included focus group discussions and key informant interviews with refugee women, complemented by a self-administered survey among FGD participants. In addition, KIIs were conducted with obstetricians and gynecologists working in the primary healthcare system to capture the provider perspective.

This research provides critical insights to inform efforts aimed at improving the accessibility, responsiveness, and gender sensitivity of OB/GYN services for refugee communities in Armenia.
